Tip 14 - Podcasting Directories

Monday, October 30th, 2006

If you want an up to date list then go to Podcasting 411 Directory of Directories.

I also learned that 1st Podcasting publishing offers a service for $49 where your podcast is listed in 35 directories which may be useful to you. I have not tried this, but may be worth checking out if time is an issue to you.

Tip 10 - How people find you

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

People find you in 3 main ways

By browsing
By using keywords
By being featured

Although there is little you can do on being featured, you must spend time ensuring that your keywords are the “best that they can be”. One site that can help with this is Nichebot

For the browsing audience make sure that your title and album art entice people to your show.

Podcasting Directories

Saturday, October 14th, 2006

For all of you readers who already have a podcast, here is a great article on podcasting directories.

Podcasting directories are your window to the world and act as your main marketing tool. Some directories such as Blubrry also act as hosts as well. Blubrry is a new site that is more of a community and I like that idea….you build the website together and also they act as agents for finding you advertisers for your podcasts. I prefer this kind of site to be my main one as you get an input into the future direction of directories, unlike iTunes that is incredibly powerful for getting listeners but as a podcaster you have no voice.crazybulb.jpg

It is worth checking out all the sites mentioned in the article as all sites have tutorials, definitions, help…..brilliant for increasing your knowledge.
