This kind of re-purposing is a must. There are so many great channels to communicate your message through, but if you try and make unique content for each one, you'll go insane!

I need to follow your example more and transcribe my content to post on my site.

Kelly,

That's a great point that there are multiple tools to interact with your community (e.g. Twitter, blog comments, forums, etc.) and you can't force them to use one or the other. You should try as many as you can and cultivate the ones that take.

I must say I agree that while Wavepad is not as straightforward as most users like, I believe it was intended for use in professional environments. You may find that there are lot's of dialogue boxes at every turn demanding in depth information, all required to make a highly professional piece of work, but if all you really want to do is create some simple wavs or podcasts, whatever the case be it, more often than not the absolute defaults are fine. This isn't me sticking up for Wavepad vs Audacity however, as I have never used Audacity!

I use an episode map spreadsheet to keep track of my Reports from the Asylum--particularly the 'sponsoring' syndrome. The idea came from Podworx--I highly recommend their 4 Ps of Podcasting series.

Thanks for the link, and I think you're right. I'm sure there are great podcasts out there that I would love...that have exactly the kind of content that would be interesting to me...I just don't know about them.

I also think there is something to be said for personality. I would be much more likely to listen to audio from someone I've met, as voice brings in character. But you can't search character.

Thanks again!
